Install Stellar on Webflow

Webflow only outputs custom head code on a published site. The Designer preview will not show it.

1. Copy the snippet

In Stellar, open the project for this site and copy the snippet from your domain settings. Leave Anti-Flicker on if you are running visual tests. Direct head install is what makes that work. How anti-flicker works.

2. Paste it on Webflow

  1. Open Site settings, then Custom Code. In the Designer this is also under Project settings, then Custom Code.
  2. Paste the snippet in the Head code field.
  3. Save.
  4. Publish to the domain you will test.
  5. Open that published URL and confirm the script loads.

Site-wide custom code needs a paid Webflow site plan. Page-level head code only covers that one page, so use the site Head code field.

3. Confirm it loaded

  1. Open a published page in a private browser window. Editor and draft previews often hide the snippet.
  2. Open developer tools and go to the Network tab.
  3. Reload and look for stellar.js. If that request is there, the install is done.

If it does not load

  • Publish after every change to head code. Saving in the Designer is not enough.
  • If you use both a webflow.io subdomain and a custom domain, check the one the experiment targets.
  • CMS template pages need a check too, if that is what you plan to test.

More on placement, Google Tag Manager, and flicker is in the general install guide.
